Who is Kenneth Garcia?

Ken Garcia, Speech Pathology, KG Speech Pathology

A Speech Pathologist with over 10 years of clinical experience working in preschools, schools, clinics and homes.

Kenneth has worked in private practice as well as in non-for-profit organisations, supporting individuals at all stages of life and learning.

Kenneth has experience providing therapy for a range of areas including speech clarity, language skills, stuttering, literacy skills, feeding and swallowing needs, as well as social skills.

He has a passion for supporting individuals who require alternative modes of communication including both low tech methods and using high tech devices. Kenneth is bilingual, fluent in both English and Cantonese.

What we can help with in our sessions

  • Early literacy skills such as phonological awareness (knowledge that words can be broken into different parts) and literacy skills involving spelling and reading.

  • Using other modes of communication such as pictures or using a device.

  • Interaction with others, including play skills, turn taking, sharing etc.

  • Safely swallowing foods or expanding the range of foods that is consumed.

  • Understanding words, questions and following instructions

  • Using gestures, words or sentences to communicate thoughts and ideas. This includes use of correct grammar, vocabulary and appropriate sentence structures.

  • Producing sounds accurately for clear speech.

  • Disruptions to smooth production of words and sentences.

  • Yes, we service NDIS funded clients. We are able to service Plan Managed and Self-Managed clients.

  • We are a mobile service that provides assessment and therapy in Western Sydney, St George and Sutherland Shire areas. Specific suburbs include but are not limited to: Revesby, Padstow, Panania, Picnic Point, Milperra, Bankstown, Liverpool, Hurstville, Peakhurst, Penshurst, Mortdale, Punchbowl, Wiley Park, Lakemba, Kingsgrove, Bexley, Menai, Bangor, Illawong etc.

  • We use an evidence-based and strengths-based approach when working with children. We will first assess your child and then discuss assessment outcomes with you. If you have recent assessment reports, we will review these. Following this, we will work with you to form goals for your child to support them with their areas of need. We also communicate with preschool and school teachers (with your permission), to support speech, language and literary skills that relate to academic tasks.
